Should AI Image Editing Be Regulated?

With AI-powered image manipulation tools becoming more accessible, do you think stronger regulations are needed to protect privacy and prevent misuse, or should responsibility remain primarily with users and platforms?

I think a balanced approach is needed. Users and platforms should certainly take responsibility for how AI image tools

are used, but stronger regulations may also be necessary to address serious privacy and consent concerns. Technology is advancing faster than many existing laws, creating gaps that can be exploited. Clear rules around consent, data protection, and the misuse of AI-generated content could help reduce harm while still allowing innovation to continue. At the same time, platforms should invest in moderation systems, transparency, and reporting mechanisms. Effective protection will likely require cooperation between regulators, technology companies, and users rather than relying on one group alone.
